1. Stay Active:
A major component of staying healthy while travelling is maintaining an active lifestyle. This can be difficult when you are following a busy work schedule, so the key is to make a routine and commit to it. Make sure to choose a type of workout that you enjoy, this will keep you motivated to continue exercising.
2. Carry a Water Bottle:
Carry around a reusable water bottle to remain hydrated throughout the day. Water has many health benefits for the body, it increases energy to keep you focus and alert while you work, and it relieves fatigue for those stressful work days.
3. Eat Healthy:
- Meal Preparation
Travelling for business may mean that you don’t have much time throughout the day to cook or to go to a restaurant for a nutritious meal. Being crunched for time often leads people to unhealthy fast food restaurants for a quick option. Preparing your meals ahead of time allows you to eliminate the urge to eat unhealthy, while also saving you time and money. Cook your meals the night before and pack them in containers to take to work.
- Snacking
Eating small snacks throughout the day is important to keep you from getting overly hungry. Oftentimes when people don’t snack in between their meals they tend overeat at each meal. By eating snacks throughout the day, you provide yourself with enough energy to keep you going until your next meal.
Snacks are easy to throw into a purse or a briefcase for times you need energy throughout the day. Choose foods like granola bars, nuts, or dried fruits.
4. Sleep
Travelling is exhausting, especially so when you’re travelling for work. Make sure that you leave yourself enough time to get a good night’s rest of at least 7 to 8 hours each night. Take breaks throughout the day to rest and energize yourself before jumping back into your work.
